A Work Placement in the French-speaking part of Belgium or Abroad: Good to Know

Through a work placement in the French-speaking part of Belgium or abroad, students can acquire specific international/intercultural competencies. Every student at Ghent University should have acquired these competencies upon graduation. Strengthening professional skills in an intercultural/international context has a positive impact on the student’s personal and professional development. Moreover, working in a foreign-language context allows students to hone and expand their foreign language skills  

 

Please Note

  • A work placement abroad (in Dutch) is only possible within Ghent University's travel policy, which has narrowed, temporarily or permanently, since the start of the pandemic. This can always be subject to change.
  • Study programmes can also screen work placements in Belgium to see whether they can be used to acquire international/intercultural competencies, because of the (current) limitations in finding work placements abroad. Brussels, for example, also offers foreign-language contexts.
